Paris, May 25th

So we tried our hardest to wake up early this morning so that we could see as many sights as possible today. We got up and ate some breakfast and then we were off for the day. To our surprise it was sunny! Yippie! We planned to head to the Pantheon this morning. It was quite a walk to say the least. We passed by the Sainte Chapel again this morning and decided we would go through on the way back from the Pantheon. It was quite a walk up to the Pantheon. This is not the famous Pantheon that is in Rome, but it is famous in the way that in 1851 the French physicist discovered the earth’s rotation. He created the first pendulum to illustrate this fact. We also found out that many famous scientists and war heroes are buried in the crypt underneath the Pantheon. The crypt was elegantly designed and we enjoyed walking around and seeing all the important discoveries and conquests that each man accomplished. After the Pantheon we made out way back to central Paris and stopped at a street cafĂ©. We got “the typical French service towards Americans”. I really do not think we could have been treated any worse. After lunch we stopped in and got some ice cream and the man serving us was very friendly and funny so that cheered us back up! After that we went to saint chapel, which was smaller that we both thought, but we got discount admission since we were under 25! Anyhow we got some pictures and sat and looked at the marvelous stained glass relics. After that we were off to the inside out building which is called the Centre Georges Pompiduo. We marveled at the exterior of the building and then we were off. But before we could leave we got a little bit of how the French treat Americans again! We didn’t want our pictures drawn by this street vender, and we were very polite and said no thank you, and he kindly said a few choice words to us! It was not to pleasant to say the least. After that we decided to come back to the hotel and recharge for an hour before going out to the Eiffel tower and dinner. Bry and I absolutely loved the Eiffel tower. We got tickets all the way to the top and probably spent two hours wandering around the tower! There was a huge concert going on just off the Eiffel tower park and it was so loud we could still hear it clearly from the top of the tower! We toke the stairs on the way down and had a blast being silly! After that we ate a lovely dinner at a diner just off the tower park. When we got home it was nearly 12 so we are off to bed! Goodnight!
